"This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you." John 15:12
In order to love one another we must take time to get to know one another.
Jesus commands us to love one another. In order to love one another, we must take time to get to know one another. Come to the Fountain is simply that -- a time of getting to know other people. It is a time of family and relationship building that recycles life much like Jesus did when He walked this earth. The Sunday night picnics are more than just a meal. They are a time of laughter, joy, encouragement, and physical touch. A time that opens the way for sharing what is most important -- the love and power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The picnics bring together people from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds in an atmosphere that fosters interaction and life sharing. Some of the people who come to the table are fighting poverty, addiction, mental illness, and/or homelessness. Others come looking for a sense of "home" -- a place where someone knows their name and accepts them just as they are. Others come to share the love and joy they have through their relationship with Jesus Christ.
Through the Sunday picnics relationships are formed that continue beyond the boundaries of the park on Sunday night into everyday life. These encounters lead to lives that are not only transformed for eternity by the Gospel of Jesus, but also in the present through encouragement toward a life of independent and significance.
We welcome all to join us at our picnics. If you are unavailable on Sunday nights we welcome monetary donations; as well as food for meals, picnic supplies, blankets, gloves, hats, socks, insect repellant, and toiletry items.
